Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a Whitman Better Little Book number 1461; usual size and format. Story by Wyckoff, illustrations by Hess. Illustrated on every other page of the 425 page book. This particular book is one of the uncommon 'Flip Page' books with a small illustration at the top of each right side page. Flipping the pages of the book brings the illustration to life and shows a plane arriving to destroy a machine gun nest on the ground. Book with tiny nibbling at top edge; light wear; few pages with bent corners; spine a bit darkened. VERY GOOD.
