Clamshell box is lightly bumped at lower front and rear corners, otherwise fine.______DISCUSSION: This is one of the most successful of the late-LEC editions from Sidney Shiff, a perfect marriage of illustrator and work of literature, hardly surprising since artist John Wilson selected this story as the work he wished to illustrate. Down by the Riverside was one of the highlights in Wright's seminal 1938 collection Uncle Tom's Children. Wilson's dark, brooding, atmospheric drawings capture the tension and underlying sense of dread that permeate this work._____NOTE: This is an extremely large, heavy edition.
