Louise Wigfall Wright (1846-1915) was born in Rhode Island, but her family moved to Texas in 1849 when her father became a member of the House of Representatives there and later represented Texas in the Confederate Congress. She was educated in Washington, D.C. and then at Mrs. Pegram's School in Richmond, Virginia.
