Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very good. First Printing [Stated]. xxii, 451, [3] pages. Illustrations. Author's Personal Note, Prologue, Chapters 1-46. and Epilogue. Also contains Note to Readers; Source Notes; Acknowledgments; Photography Credits; and Index. Robert Upshur Woodward (born March 26, 1943)… is an American investigative journalist. He started working for The Washington Post as a reporter in 1971 and currently holds the title of associate editor. While a young reporter for The Washington Post in 1972, Woodward teamed up with Carl Bernstein; the two did much of the original news reporting on the Watergate scandal. These scandals led to numerous government investigations and the eventual resignation of President Richard Nixon. The work of Woodward and Bernstein was called "maybe the single greatest reporting effort of all time" by longtime journalism figure Gene Roberts. Woodward continued to work for The Washington Post after his reporting on Watergate. He has written 21 books on American politics and current affairs, 13 of which have topped bestseller lists. Woodward spent more time than any other journalist with former President George W. Bush, interviewing him six times for close to 11 hours total. Woodward's four books, Bush at War, Plan of Attack, State of Denial, and The War Within: A Secret White House History (2006-2008) are detailed accounts of the Bush presidency, including the response to the September 11 attacks and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Woodward has continued to report stories for The Washington Post, and has the title of associate editor, which was described as honorific with no regular responsibilities. Revisiting the earliest days of the Trump presidency, Rage reveals how Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats struggled to keep the country safe as the president dismantled any semblance of collegial national security decision making. Rage draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand witnesses as well as participants' notes, emails, diaries, calendar, and confidential documents. Woodward obtained 25 never-seen personal letters exchanged between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who describes the bond between the two leaders as out of a "fantasy film". Trump insists to Woodward he will triumph over Covid-19 and the economic calamity. "Don't worry about it Bob. Okay? Trump told the author in July. "Don't worry about it. We'll get to do another book. You'll find I was right.". Alex Wong (Jacket Photograph) and Lisa Berg (autho (illustrator).

Paperback. Condition: New. For many animals, behavioural adjustments represent the first response to human-modified conditions. By improving reproduction and survival, such adjustments can play the lead in maintaining viable populations in the face of rapid environmental change. Behavioural responses, however, can also be malada…ptive and reduce individual fitness, particularly if favourable 'reaction norms' have not yet evolved because animals are encountering conditions that they have never experienced before. Clearly, behaviour matters. But how can we capitalise on our understanding of animal behaviour to improve conservation and management outcomes? Behavioural Responses to a Changing World: Challenges and Applications - a companion volume to the first edition published in 2012 - examines wildlife behavioural responses to human-induced environmental change through a translational lens. Despite considerable and growing interest in research on the topic, the predictive value and practical application of what has been learned remains underappreciated and underutilized in the context of developing real-world solutions. To redress this, the current book builds upon the foundations of the original volume, but with a more applied perspective that focuses on highlighting how different forms of environmental challenges - from climate change to urbanisation - influence animal behaviour, and how we can effectively harness knowledge of animal behaviour to effect practical solutions to predicting and mitigating the weighty impacts of a radically changed and changing world.
