Bound in the original reddish-orange boards with gilt-stamped black cloth spine. Complete with dust jacket. From a 2011 review by G. Young: "As an enthusiast of the Volkswagen Beetle, I found this autobiography fascinating because even though Ferry Porsche's father, Ferdinand and his staff created, designed and tested the prototypes and final versions of the Beetle, his son, Ferry was there to witness and participate in all of that firsthand. To my knowledge, Ferdinand Porsche never wrote an autobiography so what his son shares is as close to the VW facts as we are going to get. Furthermore, Ferry was fully involved in the testing and later development of the Beetle and also the design and development of VW related wartime vehicles such as the Kubelwagen and the Schwimmwagen as well as various German tanks. Father and son worked closely together on many projects in prewar Germany as well as during wartime. His take on Hitler and the Nazi party members and their inevitable march to defeat is most fascinating as it is all firsthand - He was there. Very interesting.". First Edition (so stated). Hardcover. Very Good condition/Good+ dust jacket. Illus. by NOT a library discard. 8vo. xix, 290pp. + 40 plates. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping. NOT a library discard (illustrator). …

Stratford-on-Avon. He is considered the greatest playwright who ever lived. Life His father, John Shakespeare, was successful in the leather business during Shakespeare's early childhood but later met with financial difficulties. During his prosperous years his father was also involved in municipal affairs, holding the offices of alderman and bailiff during the 1560s. While little is known of Shakespeare's boyhood, he probably attended the grammar school in Stratford, where he would have been educated in the classics, particularly Latin grammar and literature. Whatever the veracity of Ben Jonson's famous comment that Shakespeare had "small Latine, and less Greeke," much of his work clearly depends on a knowledge of Roman comedy, ancient history, and classical mythology. In 1582 Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, eight years his senior and pregnant at the time of the marriage.
