CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The author joined the Canadian Volunteer Aid Detachment (V.A.D.) as a Red Cross worker, and six months later was posted to Europe as a welfare officer during WWII. This is a charming story of the good work she and the others did, while also describing in a light way, what her life was life while serving overseas.
