First edition, 1865, limited to 250 copies, this being numbered 94, SIGNED by author Henry B. Dawson. Softcover, complete in original covers ("Gleanings") , 7 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches, xv + 51 pp. Fair. Covers quite soiled with tan stains along edges, front cover and first two leaves detached, paper gone from spine, an approximately 1 x 1 1/2 x 2 inch piece torn off upper corner of rear cover and adjoining leaf (text unaffected) , a 1x1x1 inch chip off lower corners of both covers, with two approximately 1/2 inch chips off corners of last two leaves, 1/2 inch tear on lower edge of rear cover and one or two leaves, several lesser tears. Internally, a 1x2 inch gray-brown stain on upper corner of page 48, with a bit of the stain evident on upper side edges of 3 or 4 adjoining leaves, an approximately 1 to 2 inch deep light tan stain on side edge and lower corners of inside front cover and title page, the same, but only 1x4 inches on lower corners of next several leaves, a 1 inch deep light tan stain on side edges of last few leaves, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked, and probably never read, with most adjoining leaves being unopened along upper edges. Firsthand account of the American Revolution by a soldier who enlisted at age 17 and participated in the Battle of Harlem Heights and Trenton, full of interesting details, etc. , clarified by extensive notes.
