B…inding intact but weakening, with the inside front gutter cracked along the title page. Light foxing to endpapers. Colour frontispiece. 144pp., b/w text illustrations and 4 colour plates. The plate adjacent to p.81 is loose from the block. Text in two columns. Occasional foxing but generally the contents clean and bright. "I venture to think that you will like this book of stories of the Sherwood men. Each story has been specially written for the present volume" (from the editor's "Foreword to my readers"). The author…'s second book after his Scouts of the Great Wild West. Written for young boys, this work presents a number of adventure stories about Buffalo Bill by various authors such as G. Clabon Glover, Walter Herrod, Buck Ingham, and others including the Editor. The illustrations were contributed by Savile Lumley, G. J. Gillingham, Robert Prowse, R. B. Handforth, and Cecil Tooke. A very nice copy of a book often found "trashed.". Book.
