A posthumously published collection of lectures by Griffith John Williams (1892-1963), edited by Aneirin Lewis, concerned with the history of Welsh learning, scholarship and literary culture. Williams was an important scholar of Welsh literary history, with particular interests extending through the Renaissance and the eighteenth-century Welsh literary tradition. The volume includes studies of Welsh scholarship and literary history and concludes with a bibliography of Williams's publications on pp. 279-286. Williams's library and papers subsequently entered the National Library of Wales. The volume remains an academic reference in Welsh-language and Welsh historical scholarship; it continues to appear in university reading lists and scholarly bibliographies.…
