Collated, complete.Volume II (1911) by F. P. Delmé Radcliffe, published by George Routledge & Sons, continues the instructional and historical theme with detailed guidance on hounds, hunting etiquette, and country craft. This volume features five hand-coloured steel-plate engravings, four full-page wood engravings, and eleven engraved head- and tail-pieces (frontispiece likewise disbound and loosely inserted). Collated, complete.Both volumes were revised and updated by William C. A. Blew and Cuthbert Bradley, two recognised authorities on hunting and sporting art. In the publisher's original cloth bindings.Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities and boards, resulting in slight loss to extremities. Loss to head and tails of spines with the odd small closed tear. Spines slightly faded. Library annotations to spines. Bookplate of Charles and Eliza Markham, gifted to the free Library of Northampton, to front paste downs. Library loan slip neatly affixed to the gutter of the front free endpaper of volume I. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Library stamps and annotations to verso of title pages. Library blind stamping to title pages and the odd page throughout, including the odd plate. Rear joints slightly cracked at upper extremities, but holding. Internally, generally firmly bound. Frontispieces disbound and loosely inserted. Slight tearing to fore edge of the frontispiece of volume I. Hinges strained in places, with binding materials slightly exposed, but holding. Pages generally bright and clean with one or two spots and handling marks, heavier to first and last few leaves and fore edges. Slight age toning to fore edges. Good Only. book.
