Brown leather with black title labels on the spine, along with volume numbers and gold bands. Bindings tight, with some rubbing and scuffing. Each of the 8 volumes is paginated separately, with its own title page. At the end of the first book there is a tear to the upper corner resulting in the loss of some text, on the final two leaves. The final page of text seems to be missing altogether. All 4 volumes have a bookplate on the inside front cover with the name 'Paul Sleman Clark.' All have a small rubberstamp on the inside back cover with the Clark coat of arms and the word Clark. This is a nice early Philadelphia edition of Plutarch. Volumes measure 4.25 x 7 inches. They take up just over 6" of shelf space. International shipping will require some extra postage, because this is a 4 volume set.…
