Paperback. Condition: Good. Paperback. 11 1/4" X 8 1/2". 192pp. Wear to paper wraps with rubbing, toning, creasing, chipping, and tears to covers, corners, and edges. Light soiling to text block, most notably at spine where it is causing slight warping. Age-toning to pages. Pages are free of marks and notation. Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Two issues from war and post war years (July 1945, February 1948), VG, light wear or foxing along edges, 1948 has bent pages at rear. Plenty of ads, departments lacking current Cosmo's heavy duty emphasis on sex and enticing fashion--here a more refined and literary person is created, about 170pps each. 1945 issue with articles on Eddie Rickenbacker by Bob Considine, Westbrook Pegler, Sinclair Lewis, Vina Delmar, photos from forthcoming book Naked City by Weegee (7pps), Ann Sheridan, Kathleen Norris; 1948 issue presents James Mason (why I don't want to go to Hollywood), Kay Wister, Philip Wylie (what's wrong with youthfulness), colour ad for the 1948 Studebaker convertible at the beach, Soviet article on American politicians as warmongers (early cold war stuff), girls--how to recognize a psychopathic man, a progressive Missouri all-girls college (Stephens), how to tell the young the truth about sex, story about the international diamonds market--and no articles about fashion, hair or young women's appearance.…
