Item description from seller

Paperback. 11 1/4" X 8 1/2". 192pp. Wear to paper wraps with rubbing, toning, creasing, chipping, and tears to covers, corners, and edges. Light soiling to text block, most notably at spine where it is causing slight warping. Age-toning to pages. Pages are free of marks and notation. The age of the magazine makes its covers feel tender, however, binding remains sound. This volume features cover art "Black Magic" by Bradshaw Crandell, as well as short stories (including one by C.S. Forester), articles, special features, a novelette, and color and black-and-white advertisements from the era. A worn but overall solid copy of this 1945 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. This shift in content propelled its success, leading to international expansions and the adaptation of the brand to various cultures.…

Co-owners Josh Niesse and Megan Bell met in 2011, just 10 days or so after Josh opened the doors of Underground Books, literally underground, several steps below street level in a 100-year-old basement in our historic downtown. Megan, an English student at the University of West Georgia, walked in, fell down the rabbit hole, and never left! Reader, we married in May of 2014, under the book arch that now resides at the bookshop. We are both proud alumni of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS), and Megan additionally of Rare Book School at the University of Virginia and of the ABAA Women’s Initiative Mentorship Program.
