Foreword written by Roy Slade, Commentary by Norman Hirschl. Main Essay written by James W. Whitehead (Louise Herreschoff, 1876-1967). Followed by a chronology and notes, then the plates. Most of the works in this catalogue are in the collection of Washington & Lee University. The artist painted with a brilliant pallete, but ceased to paint around 1927 due to poor health. A few of her works border on abstract. Others are still life works or portraits.
