First printed in English in 1957. Translated from the Hebrew. Index. Black and white photographic plates illustrate the broad range of physical appearances of members of the many scattered Jewish communities the author sought to bring together. Brilliant gilt lettering and signature upon red cloth. Binding tight. Bump and one-inch opening to cloth at bottom of back board. Somewhat above-average wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in archival-grade Brodart.
