Spines with gilt ornaments and vignettes, and two (red and light blue) calf labels with gilt titles. Red edges. = Interesting flowering calender running… from March to November of each year. The author, Johann Christoph Gottlob Weise (1762-1840), was a German engineer, geographer and horticultural inspector. First volume without endpapers, as if not inserted; old library stamp on first blank recto of volume 2 (the same one, in all probabilty, removed from the first volume). Title pages, and a few other pages partly toned, some thumbing in the margins; but in general a very good set in a nice, contemporary binding. Pritzel, 10143.

Vorgebunden sind weitere 5 Tafeln mit dem Titel "Practisch gewebte Proben zu dem theoretisch-practischen Handbuch für Weber, dargestellt von C.G. Weise, Lehrer an der Weberschule in Frankenberg", sowie ein Erläuterungsblatt zu Tafel 3 (Erklärung über die Vorrichtung einer Jacquard-Maschine).
