Founded in 1839, the Cambridge Camden Society, also known as the Ecclesiological Society was to revive Gothic church architecture under the guidance of its founders; Benjamin Webb, Alexander Beresford-Hope, and John Mason Neale. The Ecclesiologist published its first issue in November 1841, and discontinued in 1868. The New series began with the January 1845 issue and ended with the December 1868 issue. From 1862 till his death he held the living of St Andrew's, Wells Street, London, which became famed for its music and parochial organizations.'
