    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION. This is NOT the copy of the book depicted in the stock photo! This is the 1900 edition, being a reprint of the Fowler, Dick & Walker, 1858. Original half leather (spine and corners) and green cloth, top edge gilt, 5x7 1/2 inches, illustrated with 2 plates by Davis, map and photo of the site of the Massacre. Hardcover, very good, no dustjacket. Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, rubbed along edges and at head and foot of spine, previous owner's small name and address label, paper lightly age yellowed, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked and apparently never read. Historical novel set in the Wyoming Valley of northeast Pennsylvania, now the Wilkes-Barre Scranton area, during the American Revolution and the Battle of Wyoming and subsequent massacre. Literature; Joseph Brant; Queen Esther; history; historical fiction.

This is the 1908 edition, being a reprint of the Fowler, Dick & Walker, 1858 one printed under the patronage of the Dial Rock Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Hardcover, 5 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches, original green and black pictorial cloth, with a paste-down drawing of the heroine on front board, floral decorative spine, stamped white lettering on front board, 382 pp, illustrated with 4 plates (drawings by J Watson Davis; all present) and extra illustrated with photographic plates showing the actual sites of the incidents in the book, plus a period drawing of Forty Fort. Very good, no dustjacket. Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, a few approximately 1/8th inch nicks at head and foot of spine and another such on lower edge of front board, just a bit of the dye rubbed off lettering on front board, 1/2 incn drop mark on side edge of front board, title written (in pencil) on top edge of textblock. Internally, previous owner's (Lyda Cary) signature (in pencil) , a bit shaken with hairline hinge cracks between a few of the gatherings, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked.
