Some edge wear, chipping creasing and small loss to top and bottom of jacket (with picture of 1960s housewife kneeling in front of her new electric oven) and spine, jacket lamination…badly lifted, corners rubbed with small loss, some old tape marks to pastedowns, yellow vinyl covers quite worn and rubbed, not price clipped (42/-), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg copy of an obviously much loved and used book. 832pp, lavishly illustrated in colour and b&w. Everything the house wife needs to know, from 'Home Management' to kitchen hygiene, to how to cook for a dinner party, with hundreds of traditional recipes. A large heavy book, extra postage may be required. photos by the Ward Lock staff (illustrator).

Large fold-out map of Holland remains affixed to the front (tear along one fold, some light pencil annotations to the bottom margin, but fundamentally in excellent condition…). The Plan of Amsterdam is included but loose. Page block edges dust-toned. Red cloth with bright gilt titling to the spine and the front, and with a fine gilt reproduction of the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the lower front. Light press to the spine ends, a few marks (principally to the back), the cover otherwise remaining in excellent condition. 136pp (+96pp 'Advertiser'). Illustrated.
