A fascinating and extremely detailed compendium of local law -- Alehouses, Bastardy, Wrecks, Butter & Cheese, Burglary, Fires, Conspiracy, Game, Gaming, Gunpowder, Highways, Excise and Customs, Horses, Militi…as, Marriage, Homicide, Houses of Correction, Vagrants, Riots and Popery-- all in some detail, for example the section on militia is 77 pages in length. In full brown suede contempoarary leather with leather spine labels lettered gilt at the spine. Boards a little loose and somewhat rubbed and the front board of volume 2 is detached but present. Reasonable condition externally. Text block is sound and very clean. A supplement appeared in 1770 which is not present.
