Hardcover, (G-), In German (basic translation of title: Andersen's Fairy Tales, Adapted From the Danish Original by Karl Henniger, With Twelve Color Illustrations by Wanda Zeigner-Ebel), Abel & Müller, Leipzig, no date - probably 1920s, 319 pages, Foreword by Henniger, illustrated with 12 color plates… and two b&w decorations (Table of Contents, last page), 7-1/16 in. x 9-5/8 in., color-decorated paper-covered boards with cloth spine, top of text block tinted blue - now a little rubbed, bumping and wear and chipping to corners and spine ends (boards visible), edge-wear, cloth of spine was almost completely split from binding - and while it has been stabilized with archival glue it remains *very* fragile, covers lightly scuffed and soiled, no dust jacket, split to paper of front end paper hinge - now reinforced with archival paper tape, edges of one plate worn, signatures are stapled and some staples show a little slight rust, pages browned and brittle, closed tear to page 213, otherwise contents clean and tight, item protected in new clear plastic sleeve, book: Good- {While this book does show its age and needs to be handled gently, the plates are stunning - fanciful, bright, and colorful - and more than make up for the wear to the binding!} [Os0121JH] Please feel free to contact us with questions about our books - we are happy to provide further information.
