No. 1 - 31 are bound in a sturdy binding with heavy cloth boards. Nos. 33 , 34 , and the Index are laid in at the back of the volume. Overall , the material is in very good shape. There are a few small chips and tears bu…t the binding has protected the material very well over the years. Nos. 33 and 34 show tears at the bottom with some material missing , damage probably resulting from them not being in the bound material. The boards and spine now show wear and soil but the hinges are tight. This is a great wealth of social , economic , agricultural , and advertising material for 1905. Wonderful drawings and photographs , especially of livestock. The extensive articles and essays are exceedingly well done overall , providing a gold mine of information and analysis. This, of course , is the publication that propelled Henry A. Wallace to national attention , to the Roosevelt cabinet , the Vice Presidency , and the formation of the Progressive Party.
