Folding map with stiff back wrapper, lacking front board. Map is excellent, with short repairs or splits along three fold lines. Parks and other public areas are tinted green, surface and subway rail lines in red and green. The United Staes Hotel, which used this map as a promotional device, is also shown in red. The map shows all of Central, East and South Boston, most of Charlestown, and the eastern tip of Cambridge. Near the lower left corner are identified the American League Baseball Grounds on Huntington Ave., backing on train tracks and the National League Baseball Grounds on Columbus Ave., both a couple of blocks southwest of Massachusetts Ave. Imprints show an original copyright of this map in 1883 by Tilly Haynes, with subsequent 1894, 1897, 1902 & 1903 copyrights by George Walker & Co.
