Book size - c. 7.5 x 5 inches, 252 + 4 (publiser's ad) + 3 colour plates, patterned endpapers, hardback in publisher's illustrated cloth. Book condition - Good plus ; contents a little dusty but remaining of good appearance, no foxing, no inscriptions, prize bookplate inside the front - "Little Wakering [ Essex ] Church Sunday School 1st prize . Awarded to Evie Jefferies, Christmas 1915. 364 Marks" - all plates in very good condition, inner hinges intact and binding sound ; publisher's grey cloth with colour illustrations on the spine and front and title in black ; corners somewhat rubbed and slighly bent, boards' edges with light rubbing , back with a few slight marks but of good appearance, back hinge intact, spine complete with ends creased and rubbed, 2cm split at the top affecting 'IN' of title but now neatly repaired and secure though remaining visible, spine slightly darkened but the gilt title and illustration are clear and in good order, front hinge good, front board with no real marks and the title and illustration, though, a tad rubbed are complete and clear. No dustjacket - if issued ? . Please see the photos for indications of condition and contents. A good copy of one of Protheroe's scarcer titles.
