His statements about Southern Europe, Egypt and the Holy Land are undoubtedly based on his own observation, M. Letts, editor of the English edition, considers the journey through Arabia to Socotra credible, whereas Harff used 3 maps as a basis for his description of Ethiopia and invented the rest.
