Boards covers with dark blue fabric, embossed on front and spine with stylized floral ornaments in black and ornamented, gilt titling. Gilt on front cover is somewhat rubbed; that on the spine is still fairly solid and bright. Corners are bumped but only top right is beginning to fray; top and tail of spine are bumped but intact. Edges, and mid-cover front and back are surprisingly free of shelfwear. Note: author is identified in other sources as "Kay Spen," the pseudonym of Patty Caroline Selous. The dedication reads: "To my dear little Florence, Agnes, and Percy, this story is dedicated by their loving Aunt Cae.".
