paperback. Condition: Near Fine. DETAILS: sewn PAPERBACK, small white paperback with separate black illustrated dust-jacket which is lightly worn around the edges, near fine copy. VIKTOR IV. XXXX IV Logbook Pages. Copenhagen: Brøndum Grafiske Vaerksted, 1995, , . Viktor IV: pseudonym for Walter Karl Gluck / Fortyfour logbook pages. - Viktor was born in New. York City in 1929 of immigrant parents. His mother's family came from Greece, his father came from Germany after the First World War. The atmosphere in his childhood was filled with Thank You America for giving new base for life. KALA. Walter Karl Gluck (his original name) was gifted with an unusually strong physique and abundant energy. He became a champion swimmer in his youth and all through his life water was a close element. Education in his own words: kindergarten, Sunday school, high school, university (he majored in journalism). He told with warmth, however, that he had most of all learned from his father - what not to do. After a decade of extensive travelling: Mexico, Canada, Peru (on bike), Korea (six months), Japan (one year), Vietnam, India, Ethiopia, Italy, Germany, Denmark, France, Russia, he settled in Amsterdam at the beginning of the '60s. Amsterdam - this tolerant city - carrying the image of a free society, offering space to new impulses, new ideas, welcomed Viktor and provided possibilities for his colorful creative unfolding as an artist. At the age of 35 he found his raison d'etre - and a prolific flow of very personal work began. Ina Munck / Viktor IV died in 1986 "among his roses," leaving behind him a wake of good spirits. 9788789985008 ISBN 8789985001.
