Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Dental caries is a chronic, multifactorial disease and one of the most common oral health problems worldwide. It develops through the interaction of cariogenic microorganisms, susceptible tooth surfaces, fermentable carbohydrates, and time. Historically uncommon in prehistoric humans, its prevalence increased with changes in diet and civilization. Risk factors include poor oral hygiene, frequent sugar consumption, reduced salivary flow, inadequate fluoride exposure, socioeconomic status, and lack of dental awareness. The disease process involves demineralization of tooth structure caused by acids produced by bacterial metabolism. Early diagnosis and risk assessment are essential for prevention and management. Preventive measures such as fluoride use, dietary modification, oral hygiene maintenance, regular dental visits, and public health education play a vital role in reducing caries incidence. Understanding the etiology, epidemiology, and preventive strategies of dental caries is important for effective clinical and community-based oral healthcare. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The present study was undertaken to evaluate the Oral Health Status of preschool children attending Anganwadi centres in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, and to assess its association with age and gender. A descriptive cross-sectional epidemiological study was conducted during October and November 2025 among 400 preschool children enrolled in selected Anganwadi centres across urban and rural areas of Mathura district. Anganwadi centres were selected using random sampling, and children present on the day of examination who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were examined. Ethical clearance was obtained prior to the commencement of the study. In our study: Oral health status of preschool children was assessed through clinical examination conducted at Anganwadi centres using knee-to-knee positioning under natural daylight with torchlight assistance where required. Dentition status and dental caries experience were recorded using standard criteria to identify the presence or absence of carious lesions. Oral hygiene status was evaluated using an appropriate oral hygiene index, categorizing children into good, fair, and poor oral hygiene groups.…
