Condition: Near fine. Second edition. Second edition of Jeffrey Vallance's 1979 classic conceptual tribute to a grocery store chicken. A slightly morbid commentary on the difference between pets and animals raised for food. Vallance captures the process of arranging for the burial of a pet, using a frozen chicken he bought at the supermarket. In 1999, Vallance gathered up the "relics" of BLINKY, including bones and her original wrapper, to make an installation of a chapel. 8.5'' x 5.75''. Original pictorial embossed wrappers. Patterned endpapers of "The Shroud of Blinky." [10] pages, printed recto only. Extremely light toning around spine. Else sharp and bright.

Includes copies of receipts as well as the impression its body left on a paper towel. Funny, strange and morbid. This is the second edition. The first edition was published in an edition of 550 by Graphix Artist Press, Los Angeles, in 1979. Good / Very Good. Soiling of covers including 1.4 cm., 1 mm. and 2 mm. stains on recto. 6 mm. stain to text block edge. Contents clean and unmarked.
