Note manoscritte di antico possessore nel testo (prevalentemente rimandi ad opere di altri poeti). Terzo «libellum portatile» stampato da Manuzio, che segue gli «Opera» di Virgilio e quelli di Orazio stampati meno di un anno prima. Dedicato all'umanista veneziano Marino Sanudo (amico di lunga data di Manuzio e importante collezionista di testi antichi), il volume raccoglie i tre poeti elegiaci latini per eccellenza, accorpati già nell'antichità e stampati spesso insieme dagli albori della stampa.
