Dedicato all'umanista veneziano Marino Sanudo (amico di lunga data di Manuzio e importante collezionista di testi antichi), il volume raccoglie i tre poeti elegiaci latini per eccellenza, accorpati già nell'antichità e stampati spesso insieme dagli albori della stampa.
