Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. The book is in very nice condition. The covers are very clean. I don't see any soiling. The brown design on the front and the lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There's just the usual crinkling at the spine ends, no tears. There is a tiny crease above the front bottom corner. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The page edges look very good, the middle one is deckled or rough-cut. They did a very good job. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. Scrolling through the pages, I haven't found any instances of soiling. I'm not seeing any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases, no turned-down corners. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. I'm not seeing any conspicuous soiling. There is little bit of scuffing at the top and bottom edges of the spine, also a couple of teeny tiny losses. There is a thin scratch off the front top edge. The flaps are in very nice condition, very clean, no tears. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. From the dust jacket: 'This unusual and absorbing tale, with a dramatic final outcome, gives good Americana, and a narrative most boys will find engrossing.' Maybe also girls. Allan Thomas (illustrator).…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Powder and Hides is a book written by Val Gendron, which tells the story of a young man named Jake who embarks on a journey to the wild west in search of adventure and a new life. The book takes place in the late 1800s, during a time when the west was still untamed and full of danger.Jake arrives in a small town and quickly finds work at a local trading post, where he learns the ropes of the business and the ways of the west. He soon becomes embroiled in a conflict between the local ranchers and a group of outlaws who are terrorizing the area.As the tension mounts, Jake must use all of his wits and skills to stay alive and protect his new home. Along the way, he meets a cast of colorful characters, including a beautiful saloon girl, a grizzled old prospector, and a wise old Native American chief.Powder and Hides is a thrilling adventure story that captures the spirit of the wild west and the challenges faced by those who sought to tame it. With vivid descriptions of the landscapes and characters, Gendron brings this era to life and creates a gripping tale of courage, loyalty, and survival. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
