A promotional flyer for USCO's "Openings" exhibition, held at the Black Gate Theater in New York from 4 to 6 May 1967, inscribed twice on the verso "Guest (2) Jud Yalkut", once in ink and once in pencil. The flyer may have functioned as an admission ticket. Yalkut (1938-2013) was an experimental film and video maker. He collaborated with Nam June Paik in the mid-1960s and made the documentary Kusama's Self-Obliteration (1967) about the artist Yayoi Kusama. He exhibited work at "Openings", organized by USCO, the American art collective founded by Gerd Stern and others that was at the cutting edge of video, installation, and multimedia art in New York. Single sheet (271 x 216 mm) printed one side in black ink. Two horizontal creases where previously folded, pinhole and small tear at head, one nick to outer edge, small mark at foot: near-fine.
