Interior pages have some foxing and light soiling as well as creased corners plus several short tears. Pages 1-3 have dual English-German text "Columbia Zither. No. 2 1/2. C…ompiled and arranged by S.G. Cook" with remaining pages 4-16 being musical scores of English-titled songs (no lyrics) with notes number-coded for right (upper) and left-hand (bass or lower) play; page 16 cites "C.F. Loveland, Music Typographer, Boston." Songs are: "Nearer, My God, To Thee;" "Last Rose of Summer;" "When Other Hearts;" "Old Folks at Home;" "Love's Dreamland - Waltz;" "Star Spangle Banner" [sic]; "Pretty Girl;" "Forsaken;" "Flower Song;" "If the Waters Could Speak;" "Love's Old Sweet Song;" "Constancy Waltz;" "Believe Me If All Those Endering Young Charms" [sic]; "She's the Idol of my Heart;" and "May Day Polka." This publication may well have been an instruction manual shipped with the instrument. This particular title is unrecorded by OCLC but they do cite what would seem to be a similar 24 page item "Self Instructor for the Guitar Zither, No. 2 1/2, Columbia Zither, No. 3 1/2, and Zitho-Harp" published in New York by J. Schick and copyright 1898.
