Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Fourth Edition. 218pp. 4to. sized. 2011. Fourth edition. First published September 2011. Scarce. Bound in original publisher's laminated boards. 'Bill Tutton joined the 1/5th Battalion of the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Territorials at the beginning of the first world war and was posted to India. He spent more than 40 years of his life in India, initially in the Army, but later working for several different textile and engineering companies. He lived in numerous places including Jhansi, Bangalore, Rawalpindi, Cawnpore, Bombay and Lahore. He was an artist too and some of his drawings/paintings illustrate the text along with a number of photographic reproductions. A very fresh, clean, tight and bright copy of this scarce memoir.
