Percy Trompf (illustrator). Original vintage cruise travel advertising poster - Australia Orient Line 20,000 Ton Ships - featuring great artwork by the Australian poster artist Percival Albert Trompf (1902-1964) depicting three people on horses taking a break from riding to enjoy the scenic view of the Australian Outback next a tree framing the image on the side with a silhouette of another hill against the pale blue sky background, the text in blue and orange with information on the margin below - Managers: Anderson Green & Co. Ltd., 5 Fenchurch Avenue, London EC3 - all set within an orange border. Founded in 1797 and serving routes around the world the Orient Steam Navigation Company (known as Orient Line) was a British shipping company that merged to form P&O-Orient Lines in 1960 and was fully absorbed by P&O (Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company) in 1966. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses on edges, staining, backed on linen. Size: 102x64cm.

Original vintage travel poster - Australia The Tallest Trees in the British Empire Marysville Victoria - featuring an Art Deco design by the Australian poster artist Percy Trompf (1902-1964) depicting a scenic view of two ladies riding horses along a path through a forest with tall trees and ferns surrounding them lit up by the sun with hills in the background, the bold title and Australian National Travel Association kangaroo logo below. ANTA was founded in 1929 to promote tourism and travel for Australia. Located in the Yarra Ranges National Park the mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnan) trees grow to over 90m tall.Very good condition, minor staining, repaired tears, minor creasing, backed on linen. Size: 55x34cm.

This original travel poster depicts Captain James Cook and his crew coming ashore in Botany Bay in 1770, with one soldier hoisting a British flag.Percival Albert Trompf(1902andndash;1964), was an Australian commercial artist, best known for his travel posters, books, advertising hoardings and pamphlets promoting the nations tourist industry and Australian and international corporations and companies. His colour lithographywas recognised as distinctive during his career and since, Art Decoin style, and innovative in its use of flat colour.
