    False (illustrator). In-folio (342 x 225 mm), (44),120,(1), bella marca tipografica incisa in rame al frontespizio, fregi e capilettera in xilografia. Bella legatura del secolo successivo in piena pelle nocciola, ai piatti cornice in oro a motivi floreali e geometrici, al dorso fregi a reticolato, due bracieri stile impero e un'ape il tutto in oro, titolo su tassello. Ottimo esemplare assai fresco e ad ampi margini. Nel marzo del 1494, era morto a Milano Giorgio Merula. Questi aveva ricevuto da Lodovico Maria Sforza l'incarico di redigere una storia dei Visconti. L'opera era rimasta, alla morte dell'autore, interrotta al 1339. Al C., fu affidato l'incarico ufficiale di continuare la narrazione del Merula. Una volta iniziato il lavoro, egli rinunciò però a continuare il testo dell'Alessandrino, secondo l'incarico ricevuto, ma volle ricominciare l'opera dall'inizio, trasformandola da storia di una famiglia in storia di una regione e di uno Stato. La Historia va dalle origini di Milano al 1322 ed è divisa in 22 libri. Il C. non vide pubblicata la sua opera, che fu edita a Milano soltanto nel 1627, con il titolo Tristani Calchi mediolanensis Historiae patriae libri viginti, stampata dalla tipografia Malatesta. Nel 1644 Giov. Pietro Puricelli dava alle stampe i Tristani Chalci mediolanensis historiographi Residua, che costituivano una vera e propria appendice alla collana di cui si è detto, che si era fermata al secondo volume. Venivano così alla luce i due ultimi libri delle Historiae, le Nuptiae Mediolanensium Ducum, le Nuptiae Mediolanensium et Estensium Principum e le Nuptiae Augustae, di cui l'editore aveva rinvenuto nella biblioteca di Lucio Adriano Cotta i manoscritti, poi donati all'Ambrosiana.

    In-folio (cm. 35,5), pp. (54) 471 (9). Bell'antiporta interamente figurata e frontespizio con grande incisione centrale. Legatura strettamente coeva in piena pergamena floscia con titoli manoscritti al dorso. Bell'esemplare, fresco, marginoso ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Sono presenti alcune interessanti note manoscritte coeve ad integrazione del testo. Celebre opera che copre la storia di Milano dalle origini al 1313, per poi essere proseguita da Gius. Ripamonti fino al 1558. Nel 1644 apparve un secondo volume (di 120 cc.) a completamento dell'opera, qui non presente. Cfr. Predari, p. 126.
