(Paris), Aubert, (vers 1832), Planche lithographiée (28 x 36,2 cm), signée C J Traviès en bas à droite, trace de pli central vertical. Planche 129 extraite de La Caricature n° 64. Entouré d'une foule de spectateurs captivés, un homme barbu, en costume de magicien (grande robe, chapeau pointu) est assis de profil sur deux malette…s de prestidigitateur à côté d'une table dépliante sur laquelle sont disposés trois gobelets de bonneteau et trois boules. Il parle dans le pavillon d'un long appareil auditif conduisant à l'oreille d'un bon bourgeois de dos, dont on aperçoit les majestueuses rouflaquettes et le haut toupet frisé. Légende: « Ton jeu m'annonce qu'une femme brune que tu as épousée en juillet et avec laquelle tu veux divorcer te causera bien du désagrément. Le public te donnera tort, il s'en suivra beaucoup de querelles, tu feras une perte considérable d'argent à la qu'elle [sic] tu seras très sensible, et tu entreprendras un grand voyage ». D'origine suisse, le dessinateur et lithographe Traviès (1804-1859) excella dans la caricature. Il était considéré comme un maître par Baudelaire.
