(County of London) Battalion (Blackheath and Woolwich) between march 1915 and September 1916. The letters speak for themselves, they have not been edited. Ted, as a good soldier, kept no diary. His son has compiled a simple military narrative which month by month gives the reader some idea of the conditions under which the ordinary infantryman worked and played, fought, lived and sometimes died.
