Spine has title and author inside shield-shaped outline. 'London 1881' in gilt at bottom of spine. Spine ends bumped. Corners lightly bumped and rubbed. Covers have…darkened slightly with age and handling. Light surface wear and a few small stains on covers. Green and white floral printed endpapers. Title page in red and black. Pages clean and only slightly yellowed. Binding has minor crack near center. Four black & white etchings, each with a tissue guard. 400 pages. No dust jacket. Translated from the French by James Townsend. With Four Original Etchings by R. de Los Rios. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
