The hardback volume is undated but was likely published c.1949 by Bennett Brothers Ltd. It is in a good condition. There is no dustjacket. The green-cloth boards are stamped with the insignia of the Women's Land Army on the front cover. The pages are tanned but clean and the binding is firm. The book includes black and white photographs, poems and personal accounts of the women's work in forestry, often referred to as 'Lumberjills'. It provides a glimpse into the lives and work of women who played a crucial role in the Home Timber Production during the Second World War.
