This is important because, contrary to conventional discourse, complications and damages caused by climate change have already started to materialize. The PACC program will thus be outlined against the backdrop of this particular condition. There will be a description of PACC's intended outcomes as well as of its stated priorities, which will both be related to the countries' problems vis-à-vis climate change. Moreover, the funding mechanism underlying PACC will be delineated, providing an indication in terms of the United States' financial involvement. The theoretical framework employed to situate PACC from the perspective of the United States will focus on a three-dimensional approach featuring diplomacy, security and humanitarian concerns, which all have interlocking implications. Since the PACC countries do not constitute a significant economic region, commercial imperatives were discarded. However, it is apparent that the PACC program could function as a pilot project in terms of improving climate change resilience, which may then be applied elsewhere. Therefore, it may have a wider significance with regard to the relationship between climate change and development. 36 pp. Englisch.

In this context, anti-union legislation introduced in the 1980s will be analyzed against the backdrop of the fundamental political and social changes that have characterized Britain since the late 1970s. 16 pp. Deutsch.

Many studies have been published on the strategic dimensions of and diplomatic conduct during the crisis. However, as much as a military and diplomatic crisis, the situation was politically charged as well. This essay argues that in order to better understand the crisis, both Cuba as a political entity as well as domestic American politics need to be pushed to the foreground. 16 pp. Englisch.

They consist of groups of government officials who exchange information, best practices and regulatory ideas. However, the network paradigm appears problematic. Networks tend to lack transparency, and it is unclear whether they can be hold to account. Most crucially, they do not possess the democratic features necessary to attain the status of participatory instruments for global governance. 16 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Bachelor Thesis from the year 2014 in the subject Politics - Environmental Policy, grade: 72, Queen Mary University of London (School of Politics and International Relations), language: English, abstract: Inequality and climate change have emerged as dominant themes of political and social enquiry. This study aims to link these two themes to develop an understanding of the interrelationship between inequality and climate change vulnerability. How does inequality shape vulnerability among different socio-economic groups How is the vulnerability-inequality nexus related to the process of globalization A number of negative outcomes of inequality are associated with factors contributing to climate change vulnerability. These will be traced within a discussion of two case studies focusing on Papua New Guinea and Tonga, two countries facing enormous climate risks. The study finds that globalization creates particular environments in which climate change vulnerability may be facilitated in the absence of targeted measures. These environments are particularly susceptible to the negative implications of inequality. Thus not only is inequality problematic from the perspective of access to resources, but also in the sense that political and social institutions are less responsive to the most vulnerable segments of unequal societies. In particular, the issues which create vulnerable environments are related to formal and informal social security as well as urbanization. 56 pp. Englisch.
