The present project showcases such an initiative. The main theme of the research and development portrayed through this book is using the state of art technologies for providing a voice based alerts to the visually impaired person in order to guide him/her in a closed room. The system presented in this book resorts to two technologies viz. ZigBee and RFID. Further with a voice based subsystem, audible instructions are imparted which have been preprogrammed in the system. Thus the system presented herein is a high technology initiative to replace the age old walking cage by a wearable walking guide system which is handy and can be put to use without revealing the disability. The book exemplifies the entire work through conceptual model, theoretical background of the technologies, prototype and the screenshots truly revealing the working and deployment of the system.
