Full Morocco. Condition: Near Fine. Limited Numbered Edition. Independence Edition, one of 500 signed by the editor. 10 volumes. Colour frontispieces, the first a colour portrait tipped in, with gilt-detailed decoration, thereafter simpler and in colour. Black and white plates, around four or five per volume; descriptive tissue guards. Title pages printed in red and black. Modern blue full morocco bindings, with raised bands, gilt ruling and red and black gilt-lettered leather title labels to spines; top edges gilt and marbled endpapers. Extremities a bit rubbed, with a few minor white marks and small chips to edges of raised bands in a couple of cases. A number of pages have been unopened, though there are a couple of cases and no more of minor foxing and one heavier stain at p. 92 of final volume. Otherwise a good clean and fresh set in near fine condition. The special de luxe Independence Edition was of the Centenary Issue of Paine's writings, marking his death in 1809. This is a heavy set and may require additional postage if being shipped outside of Europe. 8vo. Limited Edition.
