Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: In quite good condition. No Dust Jacket. First Edition. Octavo, [23cm/9.25inches], full ebony-embossed rose-colouredcloth sans dust jacket, pp. 311, indexed. Please feel free to inquire as to particulars . Parrott wrote and published voluminously on a wide range of subjects in English literature, though his… special areas of interest were English Renaissance theatre and Victorian literature; he also published on eighteenth-century figures like Samuel Johnson and Alexander Pope. Parrott wrote many books and journal articles on Shakespeare and other Elizabethans; perhaps his most valuable contribution lies in his work on the canon of George Chapman. Parrott edited the comedies and tragedies of Chapman (191014), an edition that is still valuable a century after it was first published.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Hi. Welcome to our small, family-owned bookstore. Copyright 1955 and published by Charles Scribner's Sons, Written by Thomas Marc Parrott and Robert Bernard Martin. Hardcover. Very Good condition. Black cloth cover with gilt artwork. The spine seems to be of a different texture as well as lighter… color--possibly faded, but every copy of this book apparently has the same "faded" spine. There is a very small area of slight fading along the top of the front cover. This copy has a bump 3" up from the bottom on both front and back covers. Otherwise, no signs of wear. A previous owner's signature adorns the flyleaf. Otherwise, the pages are all cleanand bright, unmarked. Text is divided into 4 parts: Part I: History of the Age, Political, Social, and Literary, Part II: Shaping Forces of the Age: Part III: Major Authors of the Age; Biography and Collateral Reading, and Part IV: Chronological Table (listing alongside the year, History, Literature, and Foreign Literature. 308 pages including the index. Binding is tight. Packaged using bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box. Tracking number provided for no extra cost. Thanks for checking out this book from our small town brick-and-mortar and supporting a small business.
