Limited/Numbered. 170 page hardcover bartending history and guide, with illustrations taken from various issues, from 1860 to 1880, from such newpapers as Leslie's Weekly, Stetson's Dime Illustrated, The Sporting Times and Theatrical News, The Illustrated News, Under the Gaslight and Illustrated American Life. The bartenders' portraits are from Under the Gaslight, which in 1878 and 1879 published a series of sketches and pictures called "Our Bartenders." Limited/signed (by the editor Herbert Asbury) edition - this being #94 of 160 printed on Navarre Rag Paper. Salmon colored cloth spine and green paper covered board exterior with title (faint) on spine in gold, and drink graphic on front in gold. The edges are lightly rubbed and the spine cloth is lightly soiled. Interior has prior owner name in pencil on inside front cover, otherwise unmarked, tight and clean. Interior is in very good condition. The author was Principal Bartender at the Metropolitan Hotel, New York, and at the Planters' House, St. Louis. …
