Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. First 4to, cloth. 254 pp, 195 b/w illustrations, index. The first edition, lacking one print and several indices found in the second edition, which was published the following year. Freitag 591; Lucas, p. 124; Riggs, p. 85 (all citing the revised edition except Riggs, who cites both editions). Binding shaken but still sound; internally good, but with gift inscriptions on the front flyleaf; spine discoloration and fraying at the head.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Essay by Beer, introduction by Speicher, short text by Curtis. Bound in publisher's original full natural cloth with spine and cover stamped in black. Comes in partial blue board slipcase with paper title label. Illustrated with 196 prints in black and white. Book is in fine condition except for sunning to spine. Slipcase is missing top and rear narrow pieces. 9 1/4 x 12 1/4 inches. 278 pages.
