Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. The 6 page text of this pamphlet comes from the Thursday, August 15, 1867 issue of the Salem Register, a four-page broadsheet published daily in Salem, Massachusetts. The title of the book was appropriated from the headline that appears in upper case black letters immediately above the story. No alterations in style or grammar have been made; the text is reproduced exactly as it appears in the paper. Also has a really nice black and white illustration called Home Run at the beginning of the pamphlet. This is one of 150 copies printed by the Kelly/Winston Press, New York. A very rare and interesting look at base ball long ago, in near fine condition. Is in a protective mylar covering. I have more than 265 publications on the history of baseball in stock.
