Original portrait etching by the noted Belgian Artist of the great Scottish poet Hugh MacDiarmid (probably made as a separate edition in 1977 as it was used as a Frontispiece for the beautiful Officina Bodoni limited edition of MacDiarmid's 'Selected Poems'). One of a total edition of 15 copies, numbered and titled lower left and signed lower right by the artist. Np; Nd. Image size: 14 x 10cm; full sheet size: 39 x 26cm. Fine copy, as issued. Note: Freddy Theys was born in Antwerp, where he studied Life Drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He lives and works in Belgium, visiting Scotland once a year for inspiration for his etchings. His work is held in many private and public collections throughout the world, including those of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, National Portrait Gallery in London and City of Antwerp Portrait Gallery.
