No Binding. Condition: VG. No place, no date, circa 1920s, sized 8 x 10 inches, generally clean and bright. The Danville, KY, poet, best known for his poem Bivouac Of The Dead. He was also a Confederate colonel during the Civil War. Unrelated text on verso.

The news clipping identifies Kentuckian O'Hara as a Mexican and Civil War veteran (for the Confederacy). This decent poem commemorates those Kentuckians who died at the Battle of Monterey. "Nor War's wild note, nor Glory's peal, / Shall thrill with fierce delight / Those breasts that never more may feel / The rapture of the fight.".

Small octavo. 14, [2] pp. Title-page printed in black and red, within an ornamental border. Colophon in red. Printed on Whatman paper. Stiff cream-colored wrappers, title in gilt on front cover. The last blank leaf was creased in the press. With a specimen page from this work laid in. Also with the original paper envelope, on which is printed: "Palmetto Press Hand-Made Books and Booklets in Limited Editions, Aiken, South Carolina." The envelope is foxed. Vintage script for the 1976 Broadway revival of the 1940 Broadway musical. Copy belonging to an unidentified cast or crew member, with their annotations in manuscript pencil throughout, noting characters in each scene. Based on the 1940 epistolary novel by John O'Hara, who also wrote the play book, about a second-rate nightclub singer's life in Chicago. Making its Broadway debut on December 25, 1940, at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, the production enjoyed the third-longest run of any Rodgers and Hart play. The revival was staged at the Circle in the Square Theatre from June 27 to August 29, 1976, with choreography by Margo Sappington. Basis for the 1957 film starring Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth, and Kim Novak. Maroon titled wrappers. Title page present, undated, with credits for Hart, O'Hara, and Rodgers. 83 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2-5-39. Xerographic duplication, rectos only.
