Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a detailed catalogue of the extensive shell collection of the Asiatic Society of Bengal. It documents 1404 species of seashells from numerous localities across the globe, including marine, terrestrial, and freshwater species. The catalogue is especially valuable as a historical record of the society's shell collection, which has since been dispersed. It provides insights into the diversity of mollusc species known to naturalists in the 19th century and highlights the importance of museum collections in preserving and documenting biodiversity. The book also serves as a useful reference for researchers interested in the taxonomy and distribution of molluscs, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
